RAL Welcomes Two New Artists

Kimberly Anne Johnson paints representational and impressionistic seascapes, landscapes, and portraits of people and animals in oil. Lighthouses and the adjacent sea in all its moods are often a favorite subject. Her paintings are crisp and detailed, using a palette of saturated color. Having a background in writing before she pursued her art career, Kimberly combines the two talents in the journal and sketchbook she keeps when traveling. She has shown her work in Maine, Virginia, and St. John, USVI, and is now a resident of the Northern Neck.

Johanna Carrington is delighted to be back at the RAL after a few years hiatus. Her work primarily focuses on landscapes, florals, and still life. Johanna’s oil paintings of the expansive views of the marshes, fields, and rivers of the Northern Neck and Bay are painted in soft hues with an impressionistic style. Her florals can celebrate specific flowers or a happy combination of many, either in the garden or in a still life. Joanna hopes to teach beginner oil classes, and looks forward to participating in the events and happenings at RAL.
