RAL ART CENTER’S NOVEMBER EXHIBIT

The November exhibit at the RAL Art Center, 19 N Main Street, Kilmarnock is “Express Yourself.” This exhibit includes mixed media, acrylic, watercolor, pastels, oils, cold wax and oil, photography, leather and fused glass.


Mary Montague Sikes judged this exciting new exhibit. Monti, as she is called, is an award winning author and artist. She wrote feature articles for the Newport News Daily Press for 14 years, and is an author of 20 books. Mary Montague studied art at the University of Mary Washington and the College of William and Mary, receiving her MFA in painting and printmaking from Virginia Commonwealth University. She stated, “Color and experimentation with various art mediums are my passion.”


Sikes chose a watercolor, “Florida Keys Bananas” by Gloria Clifford for First Place. She described this work as a beautiful use of color showing the exuberance of the artist in movement and expression.





Laura Edwards received Second Place for her oil, “Halcyon,” and T. Alan Jones received Third Place for his acrylic, “Guided Meditation.”

This exhibit will be on display at the RAL Art Center until Saturday, November 27, Tuesday through Saturday from 10AM to 4PM.
