Barbara Brecher

I love the feeling of working with fiber. I became interested in textiles when, as a graphic designer, my tools of the trade, paper, ink and markers, changed to computers and software. I needed to find a new tactile outlet.

I use everyday fibers such as wool and silk to create a unique light-as-air material which in turn I make into wearable art. Each of my pieces is one-of-a-kind. I won't, nor can I, replicate a piece of material.

I want the wearer of my work to feel she is wearing an original piece of art.
