Jody Ball
I have painted my entire life and cannot recall a time when I was not creating. As a child, my parents enrolled me in art lessons with a prominent hometown artist after my mother declared that all I did was draw and color! Fondly remembering those classes, I taught art to students of all ages for many years in a homeschool co-op environment and have also passionately taught in my studio when I lived in Ohio.
Mainly self-taught, pastels and oils are my favorite but I truly love all mediums. My paintings are a mix of realism and softened edges combined with subjects that excite my heart. I am inspired by the beauty of nature and much of that inspiration comes from parks and nature preserves around the United States.
I have accumulated numerous awards including many first-place awards and people’s choice awards in area art shows. My paintings grace the walls of many homes around the country.
Originally from Ohio, I recently spent almost two years traveling the USA which gave me so much subject matter to paint from! Having recently relocated to be close to family, I now live in Deltaville, Virginia. I am happily married to my high school sweetheart, Ray. We have three daughters and seven grandchildren and family is what brings us the greatest joy.
