Plant to Painting: Making Paper, Pigments, and Paint to Create Your Masterpiece

An exciting new opportunity to make your own masterpiece from scratch.  This set of three workshops will allow you to make your own paper from plants, your own pigments and paint from natural materials and put them all together in a painting.

Class 1 – Natural Paper Making – create your own paper from plant and other natural fibers.  You will use a blender to create pulp that will be strained and managed to dry into paper. Class 2 – Pigment and Paint making – while your paper is drying, you will use rocks, dried plants, stones, and other natural materials to make pigments.  These pigments will then be turned into a paint medium of your choice.

Class 3 – Painting it all Together – in this class you will use your paper and paint to create your natural masterpiece.  You can paint a flower or plant used in the ingredients of your paper or paint or bring a reference of your choosing.

Supplies will be provided by the instructor but feel free to bring any favorite dried plants, stones or other materials to add to the mix.
