I look for areas around the Northern Neck to paint that have the feeling of raw undisturbed beaches of the Chesapeake Bay, rivers and creeks. I find it amazing how water washes up on shore and takes what it wants back out to sea or deposits what it doesn’t want on the beach.
In 2018 my eyes were opened to another hidden love of painting seascapes, water creatures and landscapes while participating in water sports. Kayaking to undisturbed beaches piqued my interest in the simple beauty of my new way of life. I decided I wanted to document as many places as I could through painting them. The exploration of islands, waterways and salt ponds offer me a different way to discover my new world.
