RAL Art Center is excited to announce its LARGEST annual fundraiser The Great Art Heist, now celebrating its 15th year!  Join us on Saturday, June 25th for this exciting and highly anticipated event .  This is the one time of year where RAL reaches out to our community with a fundraising event unlike any other in the Northern Neck.  

 

In 2022 we have new and very exciting things planned that we know our supporters will love.   

 

Are you new to the Heist?  Are you a returning supporter?  In either case let us remind you of how the Great Art Heist works.

 

  • Members, artists & friends of RAL donate original works of art valued at or over $175.  ALL artwork is original art and is created by the donor or from the donor’s personal collection. 

  • Art can include paintings, jewelry, wood, photography, ceramics, fiber, baskets, sculpture, needlework and other fine art products.

  • All of the art is exhibited at RAL Art Center and is available for preview during regular business hours from May 31 to June 25, 2022.  

  • Patrons purchase their ticket(s) in advance or the night of The Heist and a random draw is made in the way of a lottery.  As your name is called, you claim the original artwork that is highest on your “must have” list.

  • The number of tickets sold will not exceed the number of original works available…you are guaranteed to take an original home that night.

  • Early-bird tickets may be purchased until May 1, 2022.  Every early-bird ticket holder automatically gets 2 free Paint Nights or 2 free Try it Tuesday events good until May 31, 2023 (a $70-$80 value).

 

The Heist reception begins at 4:00 pm; beverages and delicious hors d’oeuvres will be served.  Drawing begins promptly at 5:00 pm.

 

Tickets go on sale April 1st and are on a first-come, first-served basis – reserve your ticket(s) early!

The Heist is RAL’s largest annual fundraiser.  This year every attendee will need to purchase a ticket either as a Heist participant or as a guest.  

 

RAL Member:  participant ticket - $150

RAL Member:  guest ticket - $25

 

Non-members:  participant ticket - $200

Non-members:  guest ticket - $25

 

Guests will be able to enjoy all Heist activities including beer, wine, food, entertainment and great fellowship.  Only participant ticketholders will choose their piece of original art during the Heist. 

 

Any non-member purchasing a Heist ticket will receive 1 free membership good for 12 months at the Friend Level beginning July 1, 2022.

In the event you are unable to attend you can still participate via proxy.  Anyone needing a proxy vote should contact Christine Mason, Great Art Heist chairperson, no later than June 17, either by email at christinemason2@yahoo.com or by phone at 804-577-7757.

Artists Offer Commission Raffle

RAL is excited to announce that three artists have generously agreed to offer commission paintings in the form of a raffle which will be conducted in conjunction with the Great Art Heist.  Brenda Sylvia will raffle a landscape painting, Carol Vaughn will raffle a boat/vessel painting and Doug Mock will raffle a portrait (human or pet) painting.  Tickets will go on sale May 1st and will continue to be on sale thru the month of June with the winners being drawn the night of the Heist.  Tickets are priced at one for $25 and five for $100.  The value of these commissions is $1,800.  More details can be found on the RAL website or by visiting the gallery.  Tickets can be purchased at RAL.  Ticket holders do not need to be present to win.
